Newsletter February 2025
Dear Members,
A reminder that the hall will be closed on 19th February and there will be no painting session. The Pen and Wash watercolour demonstration by Pauline Hazlewood will now take place the following week, 26th February.
The AGM will be held on the morning of Wednesday 5th of March. The theme for the painting competition is 'Wild and Wonderful'. Painting that afternoon will be free for members who attended the meeting.
We urgently need a Treasurer as Liz is still combining the two roles of Chairman and Treasurer. She will coach you so you won't suddenly be thrown into the role without any support. It is not complicated or very time consuming so we would very much appreciate the help of any member with a basic knowledge of accounting.
We are looking for storage for our screens. At present they are kindly stored by Jenny Thompson and also by one of our members who is leaving the group. Has anyone got a shed or a garage where they could store a few if not all? It would need to be a dry space to be suitable.
If you are able to help with the role of Treasurer and/or the storage of the screens, could you please contact Liz by e-mail at lizgrammenos@gmail.com
The dates for the next exhibitions are as follows:-
Spring Exhibition on the 26th-27th of April in Chalfont St Peter Community Centre with set up on the afternoon of the 25th.
Autumn Exhibition on the 1st and 2nd of November in Amersham Common Village Hall with set up on the morning of the 31st of October.
The Committee has decided that this year the charity we will be supporting will be Scannappeal, a local charity raising funds to purchase life-saving and life-changing revolutionary medical equipment for Amersham, Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe hospitals.
You are reminded membership renewal is due at the end of March for which subscriptions must be paid by 15th April at the latest. Members failing to renew by that date will not be able to exhibit at the spring exhibition.
